Gold Coast Food and Wine Festival
Kickstarting June on the Gold Coast is the Gold Coast Food and Wine Festival – a mouthwatering four-day weekend of tasty regional food and indulgent wines from the Gold Coast’s leading wineries.
The Gold Coast Food and Wine Festival established in 2016 and is now set to host its fourth consecutive event on the world-famous Gold Coast. If you’re a foodie with a taste for gourmet, this thriving celebration of agriculture, local restaurants and chefs is an unmissable event in which you can treat your tongue to a spread of exciting dishes, products and beverages from the heart of the Gold Coast.
Throughout its four-day period, there will be a variety of more than 30 degustations, market events and wine tastings taking place up and down the coast including Beenleigh and Mount Tamborine, Coolangatta and everywhere in between.
The full lineup of events is soon to be announced, so keep your eyes open for the fourth Gold Coast Food and Wine Festival coming May 30 to June 2.
Gold Coast Seniors Expo
If you’re retired or know someone who is looking to secure an improved future ahead, don’t miss the Gold Coast Seniors Expo which is arriving shortly after the Gold Coast Food and Wine Festival.
This upcoming expo will fill the Gold Coast Event Centre in Aquis Park with a whole host of life-changing products and services, from care services and healthcare packages to mobility and home products for seniors both healthy and in need of care. There will be plenty of exhibitors to browse over the two-day event – including Happy Living Home Care Packages, Volunteering Services Australia, Alzheimer’s Queensland, Acorn Stairlifts and more – as well as experts that you can meet and discuss your plans with face-to-face.
As well as exhibitors and products to see, there will also be workshops, special guest talks and something to see for all ages.
The Gold Coast Seniors Expo is worth stopping by for retirees, families and those passing through, and will come to Aquis Park for two full days on June 4 and June 5.
Cooly Rocks On
Spend five days in the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s with the highly anticipated return of Cooly Rocks On – the biggest rockabilly festival in all of Australia!
Back for its ninth event on the Gold Coast, Cooly Rocks On is ready to deliver another retro extravaganza on Marine Parade, Coolangatta. From the moment it begins, Coolangatta’s streets will come alive with showy classic cars, live rockabilly music from local bands and family-friendly attractions, as well as heaps of rock music memorabilia, vintage clothes and good vibes next to the beach.
The Show ’n’ Shine is one highlight of Cooly Rocks On that isn't to be missed, which sees hundreds of cars line up on Marine Parade from old-school camper vans and iconic classics to dazzling hot rods and bikes. See your favourite vehicles as local bands play live rockabilly, and browse the street markets which will have must-have vintage clothing items and handmade crafts up for sale as well as plenty of good food and beverages – both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
Another highlight of each Cooly Rocks On is Miss Cooly Rocks On – a unique pageant involving nothing but the best styles from the ‘50s, ’60s and ‘70s. There are also numerous street parades to see over the five days, plus lots of exciting activities, competitions and attractions for both young and old.
Cooly Rocks On is returning better than ever in 2019 – make sure to attend from June 5 to June 9.
Carrara Cat Carnival
At the end of June, Carrara Cat Carnival will take over the Carrara Markets near Broadbeach, and it’s not to be missed if you love cuddly cats of all shapes and sizes!
Carrara Cat Carnival will feature a handful of exhibitors offering cat services and products such as cat grooming, cat toys, cat food and more – ideal for both current and prospective cat owners. There will also be family-friendly entertainment, including the Cat Breed Showcase, where you’ll get to see unique cat breeds up close, as well as hands-on activities and heart-melting cat meet-and-greets for kids and adults alike.
If you’re in the market to adopt, Carrara Cat Carnival presents the perfect opportunity with an exciting list of adoption centres arriving to showcase their friendly kittens and cats. These will include Helping Paws Adoption, Animal Welfare League, Happy Tails Animal Rescue, and lots more.
