Walk along Burleigh Head National Park

by | Jul 2, 2012 | Local Area | 0 comments

Not far from our Gold Coast Holiday Accommodation, you will find an idyllic spot where ancient volcanic columns meet the sea. Burleigh Head National Park is a great place for walkers, hikers, and joggers.

There are two walking tracks in the national park. The Ocean View Circuit is a safe and easy track which skirts a beautiful stretch of river. Imagine walking along a scenic route with a view of the stunning coast on one side and rainforest remnants of Burleigh National Park on the other.

The other walking track, the Rainforest Circuit, heads up into the rainforest of Burleigh National Park and provides a mesmerizing view from Tumgun Lookout.

The park preserves remnant areas of rainforest and mangrove forests. You will find various trees and plants such as native hibiscus trees, Pandanus palms, and eucalyptus trees. There is also a diversity of fauna such as Australian Brush-turkey, sea eagles, brahminy kites, rainbow lorikeets, and koalas. You may even see migrating humpback whales splashing offshore.

Settle down and have a picnic on Burleigh foreshore or relax on Echo Beach.
